VP of Engineering
Bill Kent serves as VP of Engineering and Operations at Resource Energy. Mr. Kent has spent over 15 years as an integral part of Engineering teams managing diverse assets across the US.
Prior to Resource Energy, Mr. Kent worked for Antero Resources as the Sr. Drilling Engineer for both the Marcellus and Utica plays. In this role, he was responsible for all engineering and optimization for 19 drilling rigs. Mr. Kent was able to reduce drilling time by 5 days per well for a savings of $200,000 per well during a program of roughly 150 wells. Prior to joining Antero, Mr. Kent worked for Forest Oil Corporation where he served in various drilling, completion, production, and reservoir engineering roles. At Forest Oil, Mr. Kent was responsible for drilling and completing both vertical and horizontal wells in the Texas Panhandle, East Texas, North Louisiana, and Arkansas. Prior to joining Forest Oil, Mr. Kent worked for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation where he served as a production and completions engineer responsible for daily production monitoring, artificial lift installation, remedial workovers, and completion designs for wells in the areas of Southwest Kansas, East Texas, and North Louisiana.
Mr. Kent holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE). Mr. Kent is an eager outdoorsman, enthusiastic coach of his son’s 13U competitive baseball team and he enjoys hiking, camping, and off-roading with his family.
